Getting excited for our upcoming Community Playdate - add your name to the waitlist HERE if you haven’t already! We’re also busy getting ready for our upcoming family New York trip and we’re trying our best to plan a kid-friendly itinerary. I’ll definitely share our best tips/go-to spots once our trip is done but would love any recommendations from the community if you have them! Keeping a 3 and 5 year old busy in the city will be interesting but I’m actually really stoked for them to explore alongside us. So far, the Seaglass Carousel is high on the list. How cute?!

Family Fridays on The Farm at Apricot Lane Farms
Friday 9/12 I haven’t been here personally yet but it’s on my list, even though a bit of a drive. Enjoy live music in the garden, BBQ, kids activities, and family farm tours ($5) around the farm. Parking pass is required and must be purchased ahead of time. (4:30am - 7:30pm)
📍 Highland Park
Family Style Food Fest
Saturday 9/13 A full day of food, music, and style all in one place. Tasty bites from LA faves like Jon & Vinny’s, Porto’s, and Howlin’ Ray’s, plus exclusive food-fashion collabs and a dedicated area for kids. I can’t find much info about what the kids area entails but I love that it’s a thought at such a cool festival like this one and excited to see our favorites, Soul Maison pop up! (12pm - 8pm)
📍 Echo Park
Back to School Live Portrait Illustrations
Saturday & Sunday 9/13 & 9/14 Our favorites at Merci Milo have the cutest event happening this weekend in honor of back to school! Natalie Horberg is a multimedia artist and New York Cartoonist. Stop by to get a sweet live portrait session for free (tips recommend) & shop the latest arrivals. Their Halloween stuff is so good! (11am - 2pm)
📍 Echo Park
Puppets, Donuts, & Coffee at Vista Hermosa Park
Sunday 9/14 Stop by Vista Hermosa Park for puppets, hot coffee, and fresh donuts in the park! Join the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry for a relaxed morning meetup with puppeteers, builders, performers, and friends. (10am - 12pm)
📍 Pasadena
Second Sundays Open Studio: Cyanotype Photography
Sunday 9/14 Huntington Gardens hosts open studio with various hands-on art making workshops on the Second Sunday every month. This week, experiment with cyanotype photography and create your own photos using California native plants and the power of the sun. Let the kids explore the gardens afterwards and enjoy the stunning views. (11am - 2pm)
*These aren’t ALL the family-friendly events happening this week in and around LA, just the best (IMO). We keep it short and curated—follow on IG + TT for more!
