📍 Highland Park
Saturday 10/12 Don’t miss Halloween Spooktacular Puppet Show with Bob Baker at Hollyhock House! This free community event will kick off with a 30 minute puppet show followed by an art activity by Barnsdall Junior Art Center. Kids will learn how to create spider headbands and paper-cup ghosts! It’s recommended to arrive early and please note that parking is limited. (10am - 11am)

Saturday 10/12 Food-focused families should check out Culinary Workshop for Families at La Plaza De Cultura Y Artes on Saturday. Hosted by Garden School Foundation, the class will dive into the world of flavors and nutrients, crafting cauliflower ceviche together! Free community class for all ages. (11am)

📍 Mid City
Saturday 10/12 Head to Academy Museum for Drop-In Workshop for Families: The Skeleton Dance this Saturday! We shared this workshop last week and it’s back for one more Saturday in the spirit of Spooky season! Don’t miss out. (12:30pm - 2:30pm)

📍 Santa Monica
Saturday 10/12 Fire truck lovers will have a blast at Fire Station 1 Open House. In honor of Fire Prevention Week, this year’s theme is “Smoke Alarms: Make them work for you.” Santa Monica Fire Department is partnering with the American Red Cross to install free smoke alarms for the community. Take a tour and meet with firefighters! (11am - 1pm)

📍 Griffith Park
Sunday 10/13 Train lovers will enjoy Depot Day at Travel Town Museum this Sunday. Stop by for tours of historic train cars, model railroads, live music, food trucks, museum exhibits, costume contest for members and more! (10:30am - 3pm)
