A day late this week (we’ll blame it on daylight savings). Cheers to all the parents who survived Halloween AND daylight savings in the same weekend. Feels good to be on the other side. We went to Carved (at Descanso Gardens) as our last hurrah before Halloween was over and I have to say, it was probably the most well done Halloween event we’ve been to in a while. I can’t believe we hadn’t gone any years prior. Definitely worth the almost hour drive for us.

Free Day at The Huntington Gardens
Thursday 11/6 Enjoy free admission to Huntington Gardens on the first Thursday of each month. Sometimes I forget to include this as a featured event and it’s truly a favorite spot in the city so I thought I’d share again. Such a great family outing if you’ve never been or haven’t in a while. Advance reservations are required - tickets open the last Thursday of the month at 9am and go fast. (9am until sold out)

Community Altar at The Market
Friday 11/7  Celebrate Día de los Metros with the Somos NELA night market. Families can check out the community altar, shop local vendors, and enjoy all the different festivities of the evening. Bring offerings or photos to honor loved ones and join in a night of memory, tradition, and togetherness. (6pm - 9pm)

Milk Teeth Pop-Up at Souvenir of The Sunday
Saturday & Sunday 11/8 & 11/9 We never miss a Milk Teeth pop-up! Shop the latest from their collection and hang out at Souvenir of The Sunday - they have onesie and t-shirt making in store! Kids can scoot around in the open space (reasons why we love ROW) and Smorgasburg is happening Sunday as an extra bonus! (10am - 6pm *5pm on Sunday)

Fall Into Autumn Community Fest
Saturday 11/8  Head to Westside Neighborhood School for a morning of connection and play at WNS’s Early Childhood Center. Kids will enjoy seasonal crafts, outdoor games, face painting, a petting zoo, live music, and more! (9:30am - 11am)
*Ages 5 and under are free.

📍 Brentwood
Getty Drawing Days
Sunday 11/9  Always love an excuse to go to the Getty and this drop-in workshop is a great one. Featuring live, costumed models, guest artists will offer tips and all materials will be provided for workshop attendees. (8am - 3pm)
*Free, no ticket needed but rsvp is required.
