I can’t believe it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday. This year feels like it’s flying - but doesn’t it always? While we didn’t plan anything cute event-wise this time around, I’m excited to share our first-ever mom feature going live this weekend (!!!) in honor of the day.

I’ll be honest: I wanted to plan something cool, but I couldn’t come up with anything that felt exciting enough to justify moms doing anything other than whatever tf they actually want to do. As a mom, that’s all I really want: a day. Just mine.

If you feel the same, I hope you get to have a you day, too. Playdate events are always about the kids but they’re built with parents in mind, especially moms. One of these years, I’ll land on something that truly celebrates moms in a way that feels worthy of how we should be celebrated. If you have any thoughts on what that is - let me know!

📍 South Robertson
Thursday 5/8 Check out The Titty Bar in honor of Mother’s Day this weekend. Mother x Birdhouse are throwing a cool event for moms, where plus one’s under the age of 1 are more than welcome. Enjoy fancy cocktails, lactation experts, a stroller valet, light snacks, vibey music, and goodie bags for the first 50 attendees! Entry is free but donations to their non-profit partner BirthFUND is highly encouraged. RSVP here!(5pm - 8pm)

Saturday 5/10 Head to San Gabriel Fire Station 51 for Fire Service Day. Meet your local firefighters, enjoy free hot dogs, check out live demonstrations, tour the station, and learn essential fire safety tips! All ages welcome. (10am - 3pm)

Saturday 5/10 This is one is purely for moms and because I personally love going each year. The Pickwick Vintage Show features over 70+ exhibitors from across California, featuring collections of vintage clothing, jewelry, accessories, textiles, findings, and inspiration of all kinds. Pickwick Vintage Show is a major source for collectors, connoisseurs, and the design community in search of vintage spanning all eras. (10am - 4pm)

📍 Pasadena
Saturday 5/10 Check out Cosmic Kids Land at Just Like Heaven Fest happening at Brookside at The Rose Bowl. Enjoy Bob Baker Marionette Theater and Kidspace Museum activities for all. We love a family-friendly music show with kids in mind! Festival entry is free for kids ages 10 and under with a pass-holding adult. (12pm - 6pm)

📍 Venice
Saturday 5/10 Join Did We Just Become MILFs? and New Balance MILF Miles For Mother’s Day kicking off at Boulevard Coffee. A fun, casual 3-mile loop—run or walk at your own pace. Moms, come solo or bring your mini. 10 lucky attendees will win a free pair of New Balances! RSVP here! (9:30am - 12p)

Saturday 5/10 Head to Sueko Sage Florals for a Mother’s Day Floral Workshop ft. Pierced Florals by KcCo. Learn the basics of contemporary floral design with spring blooms and create your own bouquet to take home. For an added special touch, Kara from KkCo will be demonstrating how to pierce flowers! (11am - 1pm)
