Screenwriting Workshop for Teens, Free Magic Show for Kids & Toy Story at Brain Dead Studios

We’re announcing our Father’s Day event soon (hint: our first food workshop with an exciting brand is in the works!! 👀). This special workshop will only have 25 tickets available! If you want early access, reply to this email with DIBS and you’ll get added to our VIP list.  

 📍DTLA
Friday 5/17 Academy Museum is having a great drop-in workshop for teens. The Screenwriting Workshop explores the origins of a film’s story, focusing on the craft of screenwriting. Teens can learn about the importance of and what goes into the creative process of screenwriting. Ages 14 and up. Snacks provided. (4:30pm - 6:30pm)

📍Little Tokyo
Friday 5/17 Head to Little Tokyo Branch Library for a (free) special show Magic for Kids, with one of Magic Castle’s Magicians, Allen Oshiro. (10:30am - 11:30am)

Saturday 5/18 Children’s Hospital Los Angeles annual fundraiser and community event, Walk & Play LA is taking place Saturday. A day full of family-friendly activities and a 3k walk to Santa Monica Pier all benefiting young patients at CHLA. (8am - 12pm)

📍Pasadena
 Saturday 5/18 If you’re headed to Just Like Heaven Fest (bands like Postal Service will be there!) at Rose Bowl you’ll love Cosmic Kids Land. Parents can take a seat in the shaded tent while kids have fun with galactic bubbles, interstellar instruments, planetary polaroids, cosmic crafts and more. (11am)

📍 San Gabriel
Saturday 5/18 A historic park and one of our favorites, La Laguna Playground, is having a community event Play Day Vincent Lugo Park. Join in on family fun, games and entertainment throughout the day. Later that evening a showing of “Lu Over the Wall” an animated mermaid story will play at 8pm, presented by Livonia Cinema. (11am - 2pm)

📍 Fairfax District
Sunday 5/19 Check out Toy Story at Brain Dead Studios this Sunday! Brain Dead Studios is a cinema space, originally built in 1942, that shows family matinees (usually Disney classics) on the weekend! (1pm)
