10/13 Movies at The Steps (Thursday) FREE
📍 Culver City
Movies at The Steps is back this month with a Halloween twist. The first three Fridays in October, they’ll be playing family-friendly “Movies at The Steps.” This week it’s Maleficent! Movie will begin at sunset (7pm). Bring blankets to sit on. Complimentary popcorn and water (while supplies last) will be provided.

10/14 Water Harvest (Saturday) FREE
📍 El Segundo
Spend the day exploring the world of water recycling with tours of the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility, discover your water-saving garden style at the Garden Corner and learn how you can save more water at home. There will be stage shows, story time at 11:30a and a kids’ costume contest starting at 12:00pM.

10/14 Archaeology Day (Saturday) FREE
📍 Calabasas
Bring the entire family to King Gillette Ranch to celebrate International Archaeology Day! Kids can dig up “artifacts” like an archaeologist in the hands-on excavation box and practice throwing an atlatl (spear-throw) and learn how to turn stone into an arrowhead.

Playground Love
This mom owned boutique is a recent discovery and it’s so good. This little shop is based in Athens, Georgia and has such a strong online presence. I love the mix of thoughtful toys and bold but timeless clothing staples. They do a great job of sourcing brands that are harder to find in the US, like Little Green Radicals, an organic kid’s brand from the UK with the coolest prints ever.
Tumble Tykes
📍 Calabasas + Reseda
From the moment you step inside their Reseda location, it’s a good time. A total 90s vibe with a giant wall mural throwback featuring favorites from Rugrats, Goofy and Bart Simpson. This family-owned spot has two locations in the valley. Each class is catered a bit differently for each age group but is a mix of balance beams, trampoline jumps, climbing activities and foam pit play!
Their first class is free! Classes offered on a monthly membership basis only.
