Valentine’s Day came really fast. We’re finishing up homemade v-day cards, practicing our letters and rush ordering party supplies for class celebrations. As hectic as it’s been, I remember being a kid and passing out Valentine cards was always a highlight of the year. My kids are really having a blast with it and so we’re leaning into the cuteness.

📍 Pacific Palisades
Eames House Valentine’s Picnic
Saturday 2/14 Channel Charles and Ray’s picnic tradition with a Valentine’s Day gathering in the meadow surrounding the Eames House. Expect eucalyptus shade, Pacific views, a short orientation on their life and work, and access to explore their private studio. Interior house access is not included. A cute way to spend Valentine’s Day as a family. (Reserve a spot for 11am or 2pm)

Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn
Sunday 2/15 Explore Walt Disney’s original Carolwood Barn tucked inside Griffith Park. It’s an easy outdoor stop with free parking and a dedicated entrance (5202 Zoo Drive). Donations encouraged and events subject to change - check their IG for updates! (11am - 3pm)

42nd Annual Wild Mushroom Fair
Sunday 2/15 A niche but fun Sunday outing: the LA Wild Mushroom Fair returns to the Arboretum. Enjoy wild mushroom displays, guest speakers, workshops, vendors, food, art and photo contests, plus a kids craft table. (9am - 4pm)

Ready for Take Off! The Family Bird Festival
Sunday 2/15 Head to the California Botanic Garden for an afternoon of hands on, kid-friendly programming in partnership with Pomona Valley Bird Alliance. Expect live rescue birds, crafts, an interactive migration game, bird-themed storytime, community science stations for the Great Backyard Bird Count, and booths from local bird organizations. (11am - 3pm)

Lunar New Year at One Colorado
Sunday 2/15 This celebration brings together cultural performances, traditional music and dance, art installations, food, and community activities that are great for kids and adults. Expect lanterns, lion dancers, family-friendly crafts, and a fun atmosphere celebrating the Year of the Horse. (1pm - 4pm)
