We took the kids to “firetruck park” at Malibu Country Mart over the weekend and it’s always a solid outing. I love that the park itself isn’t huge, is fully enclosed, restrooms are nice and close, and Blue Bottle is in walking distance. I frequent Blue Bottle way more often than I’d like to admit (daily if you must know) and it makes the park so much more enjoyable with a fresh coffee in hand, you know? Hence why all of our playdates include coffee! An absolute non-negotiable. We’ll have another fun coffee pop-up at our next Community Playdate with an extra special something for the kids! The Carnival by The Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools
Friday - Sunday 8/29 - 9/1 The Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools presents “The Carnival” happening at Whizin Market Square in Agoura Hills. Free admission and discounted unlimited ride wristbands can be purchased online. Food, rides, carnival games, beer + wine garden and more! (6pm - 10pm)

Open Clay Time at Craft Contemporary
Friday 8/29 I love this open play event that’s perfect for both kids and parents to do together. Get your hands dirty at Craft Contemporary’s open clay workshop, no experience needed. Drop in, play with clay, and create something totally your own with guidance from teaching artists. All ages welcome. (3pm - 6pm)

Friday Movie Night at Brentwood Country Mart
Friday 8/29 Head to Brentwood Country Mart’s courtyard under the stars for a family-friendly screening featuring Pixar’s Up. Grab dinner to go from your favorite Mart spots, and enjoy one of the best Pixar films (possibly ever?) with popcorn and friends. (6pm)

Community Pool Party at VNSO Aquatic Center
Saturday 8/30 Cool off this Labor Day weekend with a free community pool party hosted at VNSO Aquatic Center in partnership with LA City Parks + PlayLA. Expect an afternoon of swimming, games, and a live set from local rock band Celestial Voice. All ages welcome. (2pm – 5pm)

KAOS Kids at Leimert Park
Saturday 8/30 Check out KAOS Kids STEM event happening this Saturday. They’ll have free drop-in work shops from robot-building, chess-playing, crafting games, and even testing out VR tours in the heart of Leimert Park. All ages are welcome to explore, invent, and play! (2pm - 5pm)
