Back in school, peak heat, and my kids are already in Halloween pajamas and asking to put up our decorations. Go figure. We’re in fall planning mode and end of year too (crazy!). I’m more than ready for my favorite season to finally show up! Keeping it short and sweet this week.

📍 Santa Monica
The Hayden Tract Sunset Cinema Series Presents Wicked
Thursday 8/21 Grab your spot for an outdoor screening of Wicked! Enjoy complimentary popcorn and themed treats (while supplies last) food trucks, snap photos in front of Broadway-inspired photo ops and immersive decor, take part in Wicked-themed activities for all ages and make fun accessories like friendship bracelets. Movie starts at 8pm arrive early to reserve your spot and enjoy pre-show fun. Free admission + parking on site. (6pm - 10pm)

Third Annual Endless Summer C.A.M.P. (Community, Art, Music, Picnic) at Tongva Park
Saturday 8/23 Pack a picnic, blankets, and beach chairs and enjoy a Saturday afternoon featuring a variety of music, dance and performance at Tongva Park’s free, community event. Pacific Opera Project will perform Cinderella Story as a magical, mash-up opera. Craft something special to take home with a hands-on workshop by ReDiscover Center. And enjoy Tongva Park’s splash pad, playground, ocean observation deck and a bubble party by Bubblemania! (11am - 2pm)

Miss Harriet and Friends Book Bash at El Sereno Children’s Museum
Saturday 8/23 Enjoy storytime fun, arts and craft workshops, resources by LAPL, guest author appearances, and reading tips by Ready Set Read LA. A day to celebrate books and get kids excited about early reading for all ages. (10am - 12pm)

Family Music Night Global Grooves at Manhattan Beach Begg Pool
Saturday 8/23 Join Redondo Chamber member, Music Rhapsody for their end of summer family music night event! Enjoy student performances, swimming fun, and lots of hands-on activities for all ages. (5:30pm - 7pm)

📍 Huntington Beach
Shipley Nature Center’s Summer Games
Saturday 8/23 Spend the afternoon outdoors with the family for hands-on nature activities. Enjoy an afternoon of nature based activities including: carnival games, birding, spring flower walks, composting, nature journaling and more for all ages! (4pm - 8pm)
